Plymouth Social Enterprise Network is a hub and support system for social purpose businesses in the city.
We work on your behalf to influence strategic conversations with the local council, private sector, and national governing bodies. We also ensure that we build strong relationships with investors to highlight the incredible social enterprise economy in Plymouth and to create positive opportunities that will enhance the scope of what we can achieve together .
We promote social enterprise as a great way of doing business because we believe that social business is good business. We not only support our members work but we also endeavor to raise awareness of social enterprise generally in procurement and the general public.
We are run by a voluntary board who are all members of their own enterprises and understand the challenges that a social impact business can face. The reason we care so passionatley about your business is because it’s our business too. You can meet the current board here. As part of the Social Enterprise City Festival 2020 we launched our 5 year Strategy for social enterprise in Plymouth. Laying out what we believe are the priorities needed for a kinder, more successful economy in our city, and who we want to work with. You can read the strategy here.
Our vision is an economy in Plymouth where social enterprise is central to the way we all do business.
Just think what our city could achieve for people and planet if every business was a social enterprise! Our leisure services could be run cooperatively for community benefit. Our utilities and transport services could be owned by the people for the people. Individual businesses on the high street or operating from people’s homes could also create jobs and tackle social problems at the same time. If your vision is a sustainable, kind, way of doing business then get in touch to find out more about how we can help support your vision.
